Miyajima

Miyajima (宮島), also known as Itsukushima (厳島), is a small island located in the Hiroshima Bay in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. It is renowned for its iconic floating torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water. The Torii gate belongs to the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is dedicated to the Shinto goddess of the sea and storms, Benzaiten. Miyajima’s ranked as one of Japan’s three best views.
